Tailor in Training
Understanding how objects and garments are put together drives my curiosity for making. What materials are used and who put them together encourages a desire to take hold of items and ask questions, learning as I go, making mistakes and fixing my failures.
Pictured are a sample of garments I have made for clients and for myself, showing the breadth of types of fabrics I have worked with, as well as the various technical aspects of tailoring methods.
These skills have been learnt over some years, through trial and error, teaching sewing and dressmaking at a private studio in Edinburgh, as a freelance designer and maker and as a skirtmaker at Stewart Christie.
